Derby County chief executive Tom Glick says the club are committed to keeping Nigel Clough as manager after his contract expires in the summer of 2012.
Glick told BBC Radio Derby: "Our commitment to Nigel has been on display to everyone for some time. He has been our guy and continues to be our guy.

"What we don't want to do is conduct any sort of extension in public.

"We're aware his deal is up next summer and we'll work together to hopefully extend that for some time to come."

Clough, who was named Rams boss in January 2009, made a host of summer signings and has seen his side make a superb start to the Championship season.

Derby won their opening four league matches and, although they lost to Burnley in their last outing, they remain in third place in the table.
Glick added: "We are delighted with how the team has started the season and we have remained constant in out conviction that Nigel is the right guy for now and the future."
